David Wei. began his Erhu studies at the age of Sven and at the age of ten he was a member of the Chinese (Teenage) Artists Association. David graduated from the Guangzhou (China) Conservatorium in 1988 having majored in Erhu. He is a soloist in the Guangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra and was a first prize winner at the Guangzhou Youth Arts Festival inn 1987. Since his arrival in Australia, he has continued performing and composing. His concerts have included the Sydney Opera House and Town Hall.
