Real name: Johnny Lee Williams

Effective period / Period of releases: 1964 - 1974

US soul singer, songwriter. Moved to Chicago as a teenager and entered the world of R&B managed by WVON DJs Pervis Spann and E. Rodney Jones. Appeared on Soul Train on November 11, 1972. Sang on some recordings by The Drifters ("True Love, True Love", the flipside of "Dance with Me") and handled the vocals on tour along with Charlie Thomas. When the group passed through Williams' hometown of Mobile, Alabama, Williams left the group.
Born January 15, 1942, Tyler, Alabama - Died on December 19, 2004, at the age of 64.
