He studied at the Royal Northern College Of Music, where he also was Professor (1997-2002). From 1991 to 2000 he was First Principal Viola in the Philharmonia Orchestra, London, and following that the same position in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Frequent guest conductor with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, he has also been invited to appear as a conductor with other orchestras in Australasia such as the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and in the UK with the Southbank Sinfonia. Associate Professor at The University Of Sydney. Chief conductor at the Sydney Conservatorium Of Music and Music Director of Australian Youth Orchestra.
