Vartey Ganiva
Real name: Socheatra Vartey
Vartey Ganiva is a Cambodian/Khmer punk singer inspired by Bikini Kill, death metal, post-punk, and Khmer romvong. She is originally from the village Prek Lvea in Kandal Province, Cambodia and made her debut in 2016 with the popular feminist punk song "Evil Husband," which tells the story of an abusive relationship in a patriarchal society. She has created many anti-love songs intended to counter the trend of pop and love songs saturating modern Cambodian radio.
