Mieko Makimura. Japanese female singer born in Hokkaido on December 21, 1953. She debuted for RCA Records as teen Kayōkyoku singer after going through The Sun Music Talent School which she entered in 1972. She regularly appeared as an actress in the TV drama "大都会-闘いの日々" (started broadcasting in January 1976). In March, she moved to Polydor records and released the drama's theme song "赤堤灯の女". She sang moody Kayōkyoku songs from that time on and later entered the Enka Market.
