Students of the Intensive English Language Institute
This language institute was a summer program associated with the East Asian Studies Program of Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, providing Japanese students from Tamagawa Gakuen (学校法人玉川学園) in suburban Tokyo with an opportunity to study the English language in the U.S. The program began in 1965, was inactive in 1967, but revived in 1968. Financial cutbacks brought on by declining enrollment led the program to end by the 1970s.
