Jack Scott

Jack Scott (born September 25, 1925, in Moline, Illinois; died January 22, 2002, in Gilbert, Arizona) was a Quad Cities-based saxophonist and clarinetist. His professional career began at age 14 in the band of former Bix Beiderbecke colleague Les Swanson. In the 1940s and 50s, he performed with Charlie Teagarden, Ray Bauduc, Erroll Garner, Terry Gibbs, Ike Quebec, Charlie Shavers, Buddy DeFranco, and Hank Jones. By 1965, he was employed as a machinist at Deere & Company in Moline, Illinois. That same year, he formed a jazz quartet called The Executive Committee with Paul Barnard on piano, Bill Maxwell on bass, and Tommy Tallman on drums.
