A nu-jazz group fronted by saxophonist Josh Kelly (2019 PBS Young Elder of Jazz, 30/70 Collective).
JK group brings together jazz stylings with current influences including broken-beat, house, and hip-hop, but with a distinctive emphasis on bebop-style improvisation. JK Group sits in the crossover of raw, live jazz and electronic/dance production. At times synth heavy, effected and soundscapey, while at other times hard hitting groove laden with spiritual jazz overtones.
JK Group released 'The Young Ones' on La Sape Records in April 2020.
