Deaf Machine is a project from the Nyköping/Oxelösund region of Sweden. Mikael Svensson, the person behind Deaf Machine is also a founding member of Megaptera.

Deaf Machine started in 1991 as experiment to make music at home without computers or otherwise advanced instruments. Its original concept was to try to have a more lo-fi analogue attitude in comparison to Megaptera, while at the same time influences by Controlled Bleeding, Lustmord and Tesco bands like Anenzephalia and Genocide Organ were incorporated in the sound.
