Mexican group of music from Veracruz, Mexico. The group Canto del Pueblo of the SEV. This group was formed in 1985 with the purpose of promoting and spreading the son jarocho, a cultural manifestation that characterizes the Veracruz state. It is made up of four renowned musicians with extensive experience in various genres of traditional music from Veracruz and other states of the Mexican Republic as well as from several Latin American countries.
An important task that has characterized them has been the research and preservation of traditional music and typical or original instruments of some regions of the state of Veracruz, thereby spreading the diversity of ethno-musical customs and traditions that unite the peoples. . Through the years and the musical experience acquired they have had the opportunity to proudly represent the state of Veracruz in important national events. In the international arena, they have been present in distinguished venues in Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Italy, Spain and the United States.
