Maerin is a side-project of trance producer marco svarda. Marco started out Dj'ing as 'DJ Marin' in 2000, but adapted his new Mykynes alias in 2005.

In 2018, Marco started a project under which he tried to create really classic and vintage sounding tracks, almost like they were produced a long time ago. While looking for a name for the project, it occured to him to revisit his DJ Marin alias, as it was from that time and represents the retro feel of these productions perfectly. To make the alias a bit more unique, he dropped the 'DJ' part of the name, and added an 'e' to it, to make it unique. When the first track was ready, he decided to add the recognisable 'ae' part to the track names as well. This is how 'Maengo' was born. Thanks to the Alex Wright Remix of Maengo, so far, Maerin is one of the most successful projects of Marco Svarda. Maengo gained early support on Solarstone's Pure Trance Radio, and has been featured by Jorn Van Deynhoven on A State Of Trance as well.

The Maerin project is meant to be unique and a bit limited. To not release frequently (but at least once a year), and to only release tracks that represent the vintage sound.
