Trio Nordestino was a Brazilian group from the State of Alagoas, that played mainly within the Forró style.
Its formation was composed of João Xavier (zabumba and vocals), Heleno Luiz (triangle and vocals), and Toninho do Acordeon (accordion and vocals).

Trio Nordestino faced a legal dispute with another trio of the same name (Trio Nordestino), due to naming rights. Some sources say that that Trio Nordestino won the dispute around 1970, although Trio Nordestino (2) still used the name in recordings years later. Marinês, Dominguinhos and Luiz Gonzaga were witnesses to the dispute.
