The Chordbuster Barbershop Chorus charter was approved in 1952 with a membership of thirty-three men. Participation surged to one hundred in the 1960s. The Chordbusters, based in Davenport, Iowa, participated in district chorus competitions from 1963 to 1978, winning the 1969 district chorus championship in Omaha and the 1970 championship in Davenport. That same year, the Chordbusters placed 8th on the international stage in Atlantic City and 6th in 1971 in New Orleans. Their annual Holiday In Harmony shows began in 1956 and continue to this day.
