Bobby Worth

American songwriter.Born September 25, 1912 · Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

Brother of pianist/songwriter Buddy Worth (Robert Gerald Wirtshafter).
Worth was considered a child prodigy, performing in classical concerts at ten years of age. In 1940 he moved to Hollywood and teamed up with songwriter Stanley Cowan, writing for movie studios.
His best known songs are Do I Worry?, 'Til Reveille, Tonight We Love and Don't You Know?. His songs have been recorded by Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Della Reese and numerous other performers. He charted as a songwriter fourteen times in the U.S. between 1941-1963 and once in the U.K. in 2003. In 1941 alone, he charted nine times. The first three chartings were of the song "Do I Worry?", which hit #4 by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra. The next four chartings were the song "'Til Reveille", with the highest charted versions coming from Bing Crosby's as well as Kay Keyser and His Orchestra, both of which hit #6. Both songs were co-written by Cowan. "Tonight We Love (Concerto No. 1 B Flat Minor)" by Tony Martin hit #5 in 1941 (co-written by Ray Austin & Freddy Martin). His highest charted song came in 1959 with "Don't You Know" by Della Reese, which landed at #2 and #1 on the R&B chart. In 2003, "If Everybody in the World Loved Everybody in the World" by Stylophonic hit #82 in the U.K.
