Dick Rogers

American singer, comedian, songwriter and pianist.
Born 1912. Died 1970.
He often sang as a team with his sister Dorothy Rogers. They sang with the orchestra of Will Osborne in 1935–1937.
He wrote the lyrics for 'Harlem Nocturne'.
He charted as a songwriter seven times in the U.S. between 1940-1977. His to phit came in 1940, "Pompton Turnpike" by Charlie Barnet and His Orchestra, which hit #3 (co-written by Osborne). "Harlem Nocturne" charted three times--in 1959, 1965, and 1977.
