Won singing competition as a teenager. Appeared in stage productions of "Southern Maid" (1924) and "Primrose" (1926) and with Maurice Moscovitch in "The Merchant Of Venice" (1927). Radio broadcasts 1925-1932 in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane. In the cast of further stage productions in the 1930s (such as "The Big Show" at the Theatre Royal in 1932). Singer/announcer on Radio 4BH Brisbane in 1942/43. Joined 3XY in Melbourne in Nov., 1944.
