Kandel's Orchestra

Pioneering Klezmer orchestra, founded by Galicia-born clarinetist Harry Kandel in Philadelphia, PA, in 1916.The orchestra recorded numerous titles for the Victor label between 1917 and 1927. In May 1921, they also cut a few sides for Okeh, and in June and September 1924 they had two recording sessions with Brunswick.
Apart from the name Kandel's Orchestra, they also used the generic term "Polska Orkiestra Tancowa" (Polish Dance Orchestra) to release a number of Polish polkas and mazurkas that they recorded in 1918.
