Steve worked with : "Will Bradley Orchestra" (1939-'41), Artie Shaw(1941-1942), Teddy Powell, Bob Chester, Freddie Slack, "Glen Gray's Casa Loma Orchestra", Stan Kenton (1947), Jimmy Dorsey, Boyd Raeburn, Gene Krupa, Mel Powell, Vic Dickenson, Sir Charles Thompson, Buck Clayton, Ruby Braff, Benny Goodman, Wild Bill Davison, Clancy Hayes, Buddy Tate, Helen Ward (1979), Ed Polcer and others.
