Fernando Pessoa (b. June 13, 1888 in Lisbon, Portugal — d. November 30, 1935) was a Portuguese poet, writer, a literary critic and translator. He was bilingual in Portuguese and English, and fluent in French. In writing he would adopt countless heteronyms; all these possessed distinct biographies, temperaments, philosophies, appearances and writing styles. His best known work is The Book Of Disquietude.
