American country and blues singer and musician (1904 - 1983).
Brother of musician Bill Carlisle and father of Sonny Boy Tommy (Tommy Carlisle). As The Carlisle Brothers they appeared on radio stations in Kentucky and Tennessee beginning in the 1920s. In 1938 they signed a recording contract with Decca Records and after World War II they were signed by King Records (3). Cliff retired from music around 1950.
