Real name: Ernest F. Newton
Nashville-based bass player. Born November 6, 1908 in Hartford, Connecticut. Died October 17, 1976 in Nashville, Tennessee.Newton was the original bass player with the Les Paul Trio. He came to the Opry in 1946 with Red Foley.
