Overlan was the founding member of the English Melodic Rock band FM (6) and started his music career alongside his brother Steve Overland (vocals) in 1984. He had previously gathered experience with the band Wildlife (8). However, Overland left FM in 1990 and subsequently turned away from the music industry.
