Katarina Fritzén

Real name: Maria Katarina Fritzén

Swedish flautist and musical pedagogue, born 27 May, 1946 in Stockholm, Sweden.

She used to be a member of a member of Fred Åkerström's Trio CMB as well as the all-female, Latin flavoured jazz rock quartet Tintomara, and she appeared on albums with Ralph Lundsten, Berit Andersson and Lena Ekman. She was also on the 1974 Tjejclown - Tjejclown album. She's also written lots of music sheets and a schoolbook in four parts for flautists.

Katarina is married to Swedish-American jazz pianist and composer Steve Dobrogosz, with whom she has a son, the jazz pianist, keyboardist and composer Jonathan Fritzen.
