The Moscow Symphony Orchestra (MSO) was founded in 1989. The first leader and conductor was Константин Кримец (Constantine Krimetz). Later this non-governmental orchestra worked under well-known conductors including Antonio De Almeida, Igor Golovschin and Dmitry Yablonsky. Since 1997 the principal Conductor of the MSO is Vladimir Ziva.

For the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, please use Большой Симфонический Оркестр Всесоюзного Радио.
Do not confuse with Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, often translated as The Moscow Symphony Orchestra on Melodiya recordings before 1989.
