Abdulla Aripov (Uzbek: Abdulla Oripov) (March 21, 1941 - November 5, 2016) - Uzbek Soviet poet, classic of Uzbek poetry, Hero of Uzbekistan (1998), people's poet of the Uzbek SSR (1983), statesman and public figure. Author of the words of the State Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
