Folksinger, songwriter and guitar player from Ballyshannon in the Irish county of Donegal, living in Nashville. Also plays mandolin, bass and keys.
Has worked in studios in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Memphis and Chicago.
After studying outdoor activities at Regional College in Letterkenny, he toured around the northwest of Ireland playing gigs in pubs and small venues.
He moved to New York in 2000, then Chicago and Washington, DC before spending almost 10 years in New Orleans, where he recorded with George Porter Jr., Mean Willie Green and the Neville Brothers, and gigged on Bourbon Street, at Kerry’s Irish Pub and at the House of Blues.
Burns also recorded with members of The Fray in west Hollywood, and is signed to Atomic Music Agency in Nashville.
