Hans Otten

German Schlager composer, born July 10, 1905 in Cologne; died October, 31st, 1942. He wrote Schlager and carnival songs, often together with Gerhard Ebeler, who wrote the lyrics. Their most popular song was "Du kannst nicht treu sein“, which was composed in 1935. This song became famous also outside the borders of Germany. In 1947, Ken Griffin tried to publish an American version of this song, which ended up in a trial of copyright infringement.
