The Meek

Members: Patrick Maley, Josh Miller (18), Bill Hansen (4)

"The Meek is comprised of Patrick Maley (guitar, vocals), Josh Miller (bass, backing vocals), and Bill Hansen (drums). Patrick and Josh had been playing together in a variety of incarnations before forming the Meek in 2001 after meeting guitar/concertina player Rory Keefe. Soon the three began playing their amalgam of literate folk-pop to San Francisco audiences. They released one EP in this incarnation, a starkly recorded affair exploring such unromantic subjects as the phamacuetical industry and suburban sprawl. With the addition of Bill Hansen on drums, the Meek coalesced into a melodic pop band and recorded A Whole Different Country, their first full length album. Full of well crafted and tuneful songs, A Whole Different Country touches on jazzy-pop, rock, and folk in songs populated by housewifes, offices workers, nuns, and credit collectors."
