Real name: Henry Hyman Tobias

American songwriter (Apr. 23, 1905, Worcester, Massachusetts - Dec. 5, 1997, Los Angeles) The youngest of three brothers had a varied career. He wrote special material for artists such as Sophie Tucker, Eddie Cantor, Jimmy Durante, was producer for summer stock shows, also worked as producer and musical director for CBS TV. With Charles Tobias contributed to the Earl Carroll (3) revues in 30s. He also wrote (with Larry Vincent and Mo Jaffe) I’ve Written A Letter To Daddy featured in 1979 Janis Joplin biopic The Rose, starring Bette Midler.
