Pat Genaro

American songwriter.
Born 1922.
Genaro showed up on Vic Damone's doorstep one day with the lyrics to the song "You're Breaking My Heart" (an Italian song "La Mattinata"). Damone quickly recorded the song and became a #1 hit for him in 1949. The song, which was also then credited to Sunny Skylar & Ruggero Leoncavallo, charted six additional times between 1949-1956. Genaro also co-wrote "Here in My Heart" by Al Martino, which hit #1 in 1952 (co-written by Lou Levinson & Bill Borrelli).
