James Jones (born November 6, 1921, Robinson, Illinois, USA – died May 9, 1977, Southampton, New York, USA) was an American novelist. Mostly known for his novel "From Here to Eternity" adapted on screen in 1953 by Fred Zinnemann and featuring the song "Re-Enlistment Blues".
