Chutney artist active in the 1990s. Atiya came from India via Holland and eventually settled in New York. She was discovered on the Mastana Bahar television program, where she performed "Ke Ghunghru Toot Gayae", which would be featured on her first album. Her second release, "Indian Tabanca" (a cover of "Curry Tabanca" by The Mighty Trini) established her as a new star in the chutney genre, and she went on to release several more albums in New York throughout the 1990s.
