Effective period / Period of releases: 1969 - 1971

Leigh Stephens is an American rock guitarist, designer and photographer, born sometime in the late 1940s in San Francisco, California (USA). He played the guitar on the 2 first albums by Blue Cheer, and was then asked to leave the group after criticising their drug taking behaviour. (He was replaced by Gary Lee Yoder of KAK, who also only stayed for 2 years.) Between 1969 and 1972 Stephens recorded 2 solo albums and he also formed Silver Metre and Pilot, whose lone albums didn't become a success. He done work for Dances with Wolves, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, The Abyss, License to Kill, Gross Anatomy and Tremors, to name but a few. In the 21st Century he has released 2 solo albums.
