Symphony Orchestra founded in 1950 as the "Rundfunkorchester Hannover des NWDR", affiliated with the Norddeutscher Rundfunk. It was renamed in 1955 to "Rundfunkorchester Hannover", later it was called the Radio-Philharmonie Hannover Des NDR, until in 2003 the official name was changed to NDR Radiophilharmonie.
