Nick Haines
Real name: Nick Haines
Born Hanover Germany 1959. Attended St Judes Primary (Southsea), Highcliffe Comprehensive (Christchurch).36 hour career in Metropolitan Police, then attended 100 Club Punk Festival September 1976. Formed early Portsmouth punk band the Fence, played with The Frames and formed band Dance Attack. Contributed three tracks, five songs and sleeve notes to Portsmouth compilation album South Specific. Moved to Edinburgh 1980. Joined The Flowers for final gig at London Lyceum. Short lived involvement with disastrous Heartbeat project. Worked for Fast Product and Fast Forward as part of Cartel independent music distribution. Joined local band The Twinsets. Recorded one John Peel session and featured on Channel 4 show The Tube. Formed electro-pop projects rap Playback and Sugar Bullet Mission.
Moved to work in Greece 2003, then Amsterdam working in Mike's Bar. Walked to Frankfurt am Maine for England's first game in World Cup 2006. Returned to Portsmouth, assisted in so called celebration of punk in Portsmouth. Contributor to History of Portsmouth Music website.
