rhein are Jürgen Krause (virtual instruments) and Peter Witt (guitar & virtual fx), both from Dusseldorf, and Johannes Rix (synth) from Cologne.

In 2006 Jürgen and Johannes released their album „this first day“ under the name of „fern“ on autoplate, which attracted the attention of critics and public. In 2009 they were joined by Peter. The three soon played live (e.g. Salon des Amateurs in Dusseldorf, Barinton in Cologne) and refined their music in their studio.

In May 2018 rhein released their first vinyl record “takes” at Hauch Records, in October 2020 the vinyl album "Spiel" and the cassette "300_1" came in addition.
