Members: Gunnar Julin

KTH:s Akademiska Kapell, founded in 2002 by Gunnar Julin, is a large symphony orchestra with nearly 80 members. The members are mainly teachers and students from KTH but there are also musicians from Stockholm University and Karolinska Institutet.

Most of the section leaders are professional musicians. The main task is to play at KTH ceremonies like the Graduation and Diploma ceremonies. Every year the orchestra also gives public concerts in the concert halls in Stockholm often in cooperation with Royal College of Music of Stockholm and with the earlier stand-alone University College of Opera, and now integrated as a part of the Stockholm University of the Arts since January 1, 2014.

Chief conductor is Director Musices Mats Janhagen since 2019.
