Gérard Caussé, born in Toulouse, France, in 1948, is a viola player specialising in its use as a solo instrument. He gave the first performance of the Ainsi La Nuit Quartet by Henri Dutilleux, and has over thirty-five recordings to his name. Caussé is holder of the Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Chair of Viola at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía.
