Carl Friedrich Abel

German composer and viola da gamba player. He was born 22 December 1723 in Köthen, Anhalt (now Germany) and died 20 June 1787 in London, England. He was the younger brother of Leopold August Abel.When Johann Christian Bach arrived in London in 1762, they became friends.
Abel and Bach also befriended the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart when he visited London.
