In 1970, he became Principal Tympanist in the English Chamber Orchestra and, in 1976, Principal Percussionist in the Philharmonia Orchestra. Timpani teacher & Staff Conductor at The Guildhall School Of Music & Drama (since 1975) and Assistant Conductor & Chamber Music Co-ordinator of Southbank Sinfonia.
Grammy Award winning in 1988 (Best Chamber Music Performance of Béla Bartók's Sonata For Two Pianos & Percussion).
