The Wiener Johann Strauss Orchester (Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra) is an Austrian orchestra based in Vienna, formed under Professor Oskar Goger and the ORF (Austrian Radio) in 1966. Eduard Leopold Strauss, nephew of Johann Strauss III, who carried on the Strauss dynasty musical tradition into the 20th century, was the orchestra's first conductor. Please be careful when submitting releases to this profile. The Vienna Strauss Orchestra is another very similarly named orchestra, that was used to imitate recordings by the WJSO. All recordings conducted by Joseph Francek, Frank Meyer (5), Manfred Hoffmaier and Norbert Neukamp are NOT recordings by WJSO but by The Vienna Strauss Orchestra.
