The Truth was formed by brothers Bill Marshall and Joey Marshall in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Eddie Jenny joined the group within the first year after Bill and Joey Marshall organized "The Acid Sette". The group went under that name for about a year, then it changed to "The Truth". Pat Graney played amplified sax and flute and Denny Townsand on drums. Bill Marshall played bass, Joey Marshall lead guitar, and Eddie Jenny on rhythm guitar. Every member did vocals.
