Hoffman was the guitarist and songwriter in Austin, Texas rock band Mad Hatter/Pushmonkey from 1989 to 2009. He began working as an artist manager in 1999, including at his own company Humungous Management, Vector Management and Shelter Music Group, which he joined in late 2019. Bands he has managed include Nothing More and Swimming With Bears.
He founded and owned the company SNDTRCKS.
