The Spats

Members: Doug Rhodes (2), Dick Johnson (7), Bud Johnson (4), Chuck Showalter, Mike Sulsona, Myron Carpino, Ronnie Johnson (7), Bob Dennis (7)

The Spats was a California band in the mid-60’s,including members, Dick Johnson (vocalist), Bud Johnson (rhythm guitar), Ron Johnson (bass) Mike Sulsona (drums), Chuck Showalter (piano), Bob Dennis (saxophone), Myron Carpino (lead guitar), and later Doug Rhodes (tuba,keyboards songs “Scooby Doo” and “She done Moved”). This group released an LP and several singles including “Gator tails and Monkey Ribs” (written by Alonzo B.Willis) which had received some local airplay. Other members included David Amaro on Lead Guitar, and when Bud was drafted in 1968, Stephen Anderson joined on Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals.
