"Smilin' Ed McConnell And His Buster Brown Gang" was a NBC radio show on the air every Saturday morning between September 2, 1944 and April 11, 1953.

Sponsored by the Buster Brown shoe company, it featured Ed McConnell as Smilin' Ed McConnell and a number of other characters such as Froggy the Gremlin, Shortfellow the Poet, Alkali Pete the Cowboy, or Midnight the Cat. Froggy the Gremlin was usually also voiced by McConnell, but in front of live audiences played by announcer Archie Presby.
