Agar (born in 1977 in Istanbul) is an Israeli-Turkish singer, who sings in a Turkish style.
Agar was born in the Oskudar district of Istanbul, and he had two brothers. He started singing at a young age, and participated in three singing competitions in Turkey. In two of them he took first place and in the third he won second place.
In 1988, when he was only eleven years old, he arrived in Israel without his family. Kamal, a Turkish violinist, who performed in Israel and knew Agar as a singer in Turkey, brought him.
Agar was deported from the country for being illegal and returned to the country under a false identity. At the age of 18 he changed his name back to his original name.
In Israel he had a child with his girlfriend then.
Agar began to develop a musical career in Israel, performed in clubs and released several albums. In 1997, the song "Gola Gola", which he recorded with Ethnix, reached the 22nd place in the annual Hebrew hymn parade.
In 1997 Agar left the country and returned to Turkey, partly due to his mother's illness. In 2007 he returned to Israel, and recorded two songs with Tamir Gal.
In 2008, the singer Tamir Gal created a documentary film about Ajar's life story, directed by Yamin Masika.
In 2013 he released another album. The album is called "Elohai".
