Orchestre Symphonique De La Radiodiffusion Nationale Belge, Bruxelles

Real name: Orchestre symphonique de l'I.N.R. / Groot Symfonie-Orkest van het N.I.R.

Effective period / Period of releases: 1950 - 1990

Members: Paul Douliez, Franz André, Mireille Flour

Belgian national broadcasting (symphony) orchestra founded in 1931, then led by Franz André.

Its name can be indicated in various ways, but it was linked to the "Institut national de radiodiffusion" (I.N.R. in French) or "Nationaal Instituut voor de Radio-Omroep" (N.I.R. in Dutch), located at the Maison De La Radio, Brussels.

In 1960, the INR came to an end and two separate radio and television stations were created: the BRT and the RTB, but the orchestra remained and was not split up until 18 years later, in 1978.
