Real name: Georges Thurston

Georges Thurston aka Boule Noire was born on December 29 , 1951 in Bedford , Québec, Canada. Died at the age of 55 on June 18 , 2007 in Montréal, of colorectal cancer, having learned of his disease in early 2006. Thurston finished recording his last album later that year after extensive chemotherapy.

He was one of the prominent figures in dance and R&B music in Québec during the 1970s and 1980s and covered songs by other artists including The Beatles . He also represented Canada at several international music festivals including Marseille in 1976 and UCLA in 1988. Sometimes used artist name "George Thurston" by removing the "s" in his first name .
