Based in Chicago, IL, Upon Her Eyes is the solo project of Lenore Karoline Ettinger fusing darkwave, goth, industrial and some early music. The project began when Lenore was in 2007 as Die Toten den Nacht, several songs of which were released on myspace, and a promotional CD featuring 2 tracks under that name was given away at Wave Gothic Treffen in 2015. It was not until after Lenore obtained two separate music degrees (BA from Loyola University Chicago, MA from University of Southern California) that she finally released her first album "Hopelessly Romantic" under the name Upon Her Eyes.The project takes its name from the E.A.Poe poem "Lenore", "The life still there, upon her hair--the death upon her eyes." So the band name is an allusion to death.
