Some Now Are

Effective period / Period of releases: 2021

Some Now Are originally formed as a six-piece in Blackburn 1981, and went on to make their name in the northern post-punk and nascent synthwave/electro scenes. In 1983 they released the single Truth To Tell, produced by Peter Hook of New Order fame.

During the 1980s, the band supported the likes of New Order, The Smiths, Stockholm Monsters and The Chameleons, on the legendary Manchester live circuit.

After a hiatus, the band reformed in 2017 with original vocalist Andrew Fishwick-Mahon joined by Janet Fishwick-Mahon, Jackie Everett, Zander Sumner and Phil Llewellyn. Redefining their sound, Some Now Are resumed playing live and recorded new material with producer Paul Stewart Davies. Their 2020 release Facienda includes the track "Begging You (Original Mix)", again produced by Peter Hook.
